Pulse (Kate Redman Mysteries, #10)Pulse by Celina Grace
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another case for Anderton and the team when a body is discovered in a graveyard after attending a drug-fuelled party. Whether it is suspicious or not Detective Inspector Mark Olbeck recognises him as an ex-boyfriend.
Another enjoyable mystery in this well-written series with some very likeable characters.

Fatal Promise (D.I. Kim Stone, #9)Fatal Promise by Angela Marsons
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The body of Doctor Gordon Cordell is discovered, murdered. But what could be the motive, later his son is involved in an accident. Coincidence or connection. D.I. Kim Stone and her team from the West Midlands Police investigate.
Although I enjoyed this story and found it interesting I didn't take to the main character of Stone. Whether her seemingly constant anger is normal or because of events in the previous book of the series I don't know.

Gaslight Gothic: Strange Tales of Sherlock HolmesGaslight Gothic: Strange Tales of Sherlock Holmes by J.R. Campbell
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A collection of ten Sherlock Holmes stories of varying standard but the one that stood out for me was “Father of the Man by Stephen Volk" apart from being a good well-written and interesting story it contained the characters of Edgar Allan Poe and Auguste Dupin.

Murder in Mind (DI Hillary Greene #16)Murder in Mind by Faith Martin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another cold case for Hillar Greene and her team. That of seventy-five-year-old Sylvia Perkins found murdered in her own home. But what of Jake Barnes, one of her team, what really is he up to. We start finding out.
Again another well-written, interesting and entertaining mystery in this series, with its varied characters. Always a joy to read.

Death On Duty: Authentic detective fiction, packed full of suspense (Josef Slonský Investigations #3)Death On Duty: Authentic detective fiction, packed full of suspense by Graham Brack
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

While trying to locate several Bosnian criminals deemed to have arrived in Prague, Lieutenant Josef Slonský and his two assistants come across a dead undercover police officer, Hrdlicka. He has been killed outside the building Slonsky and his team have been watching. What is the connection, if any, and what does it lead to.
Having really enjoiyed the first two books in the series I was really looking forward to reading the next, and it doesn't disappoint. A very enjoyable and interesting read, well-written. While some of the humourous/sarcastic sayings of Slonsky certainly make him a highly likeable character along with the other major characters.
