l Jessica Davenport has been raised by her aunt ,Lady Georgina Langtree, and at the age of 18 in 1812 her father, Maxwell Davenport, a businessman decides its time she was married. And married to a rich man to help solve his financial problems.
Jessica did seem immature for her eventual husband, and I did wonder why an 18 years old Regency lady was allowed to go horse riding of an evening all on her own. With a bit more depth to the characters the story would have been better. Though it was still a somewhat enjoyable read.
