Keeper of Pleas by Annelie Wendeberg
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
December 1880 Whitechapel, and the skeletons of nine babies are discovered in flowerpots. It is Coroner Gavriel Severe who investigates. When the mortician, Alexander Easy, who received the bodies disappears, he wonders if the cases are connected.
The books brings to life the dark side of Victorian England, in this well-developed mystery with its interesting characters.
I look forward to reading the next in the series.
