As it seems the city as been infiltrated by harmful patent medicine which is a very lucrative investment but it is leading to blackmail and murder.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery with its interesting characters. Another good addition to this enjoyable series.

Quite a lot of unpleasant characters, Rufford himself is not that likeable.
