Malton, 1361. Justice of the Peace Sir Ralph de Mandeville holds a routine session of the peace when a formal plea of mayhem is instigated. But another death, and rumours of revenants abound. Sir Ralph and his assistans must separate superstitions from the evil humans.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery with its likeable and interesting main characters. Another good addition to this enjoyable series.
