Cassie is asked to be a maid for an evening by Mrs Albright, her landlady. A friend of Mrs Albright, a cook by the name of Mrs Alma Pomeroy, is in need of assistance at a dinner party held by her employers home, a Mr Edgar Carrollton.
Unfortunately one of the guests dies at the table.
Inspector Hamilton with the help of Cassie try and solve the case.
An interesting little mystery.
