This is the first of the series that I have read. Ursula Blanchard has been given a mission by Sir William Cecil - to deliver a letter to Holyrood Palace for the Earl of Morton, and buy a book from the ladies of Stonemoor House.
For my tastes I found the story too descriptive. and not enough mystery and consequently not very interesting.
