Chicago 1886, just a few days after an explosion haskilled and maimed some policemen Sergeant Doran gets a new partner - rookie Detective Diamond. They are sent to investigate a suspicious death, not realising the havoc that will follow.
An enjoyable story, and a good solid start to the series, with some likeable characters.
