The Winter Mystery by Faith Martin

Jenny Starling on a whim responded to an advertisement for a cook at a farm over the Christmas period. Unfortunately the household it not a happy one which is made worse on Christmas Eve when one of them turns up dead. The situation is not helped by the lack of murder experience of the lead detective Inspector Moulton, and it is left to Jenny to steer the police to the correct guilty party.
Am enjoyable well-written and easily read cozy mystery with a likeable lead character.
