Mis Hester Lynton first case is in 1881 when she meets on a train Miss Ivy Jessop. Ivy happens to see a newspaper report of a missing governess, the family being old friends of her father.
Hester and Ivy investigate.
An enjoyable short story, a solid beginning to the series.
