Brisbane 1888. Matilda Hayward a writer for the 'Woman's Journal' is writing a piece about the newly arrived Burnham's Freak Show. But soon there is a death. Detectives Thomas Ashdown and Henry Dart investigate with the help of Matilda.
An entertaining historical mystery with its likeable characters. A good start to this series.
