Death of a Lady by Laura Martin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
1795 Hampshire. At the Westworths ball Emma Roscoe has overheard or seen something that has disturbed her, and she asks to speak to Jane Austen later. But she is found by Jane, dead, stabbed. Magistrate Lord Hinchbrooke investigates with the help of Jane.
An entertaining and well-written historical cozy mystery with its likeable and varied characters. A good start to this new series.
