To this end she employs private investigator Charles Hunter, who is helped by the maid at the Waiting Mortuary, Constance Dunn, where her mother waits burial
An entertaining cozy mystery set in Victorian times with its likeable main characters. This is a good start to this series.

With a lull at the Saltern-le-Fen police station DI Jackman and his team are given two cold cases to investigate. When a newly local family living at Solace House start being terrorised Jackman feels the need to help. But then a body is discovered. Is there a connection with the cases and the house. The cases just get more complicated.
An entertaining well-written and well-plotted modern mystery. With its likeable and interesting characters. Another good addition to this enjoyable series which can easily be read as a standalone story.

An entertaining and well-written historical mystery, with its likeable and interesting main characters.

In this Pride & Prejudice variation to avoid the unwanted attentions of the new vicar, Mary escapes to Pemberley. In the same carriage, avoiding his matchmaking mother is the Colonel. Circumstances force them to wed.
As with the author's other work (Coping) I like the pairings, and the story. For thoses two items the story receives 3 stars.
But once again the execution of the story is bad, it badly needs a proof reader and an editor. Still I had to read it again.

In this Pride and Prejudice variation - what if at the Netherfield Ball, Mary Bennet and Darcy collided - literally. What if that was Mary's breaking point after all the years suffering while living as a Bennet, and she went straight over her personal cliff and left Meryton. What if it was found out that both Kitty and Lydia were 'increasing'. This is that story.
This story does contain some errors but it is an unpublished fan fiction so they will be ignored when giving a rating.
Overall this is such an enjoyable story. Another entertaining re-read.

Mrs Bennet's favourites, the other three, all because they have the same colouring as her, blond and blue eyed.
An entertaining story with lots of new characters added.

An entertaining variation and one in which I liked the pairings.

A young girl is shot by an arrow at a New York museum. But by whom and why. The museum is quickly closed down to capture the guilty party. Can detective Gryce with the help if Sweetwater discover the truth. Gryce decides before the half way point of the story who the guilty party is, it is then just a matter of why.
Overall an entertaining read if somewhat over long.

Another entertaining and well-written Victorian mystery with its likeable and interesting characters. A good addition to this series which can easily be read as a standalone story.

In this Pride and Prejudice variation George Darcy is still alive but unfortunately believes everything that Wickham says. With the result that he becomes estranged from his actual son Fitzwilliam who starts to make his own way in thecworld. How does this affect the Bennets daughters and their awful parents.
The death of a beloved character made me give up for a while as there was absolutely no need for it. Eventually finished the enjoyable story.

Entertaining variation made so with the pairing of Mary's. Another enjoyable re-read.

An enjoyable and well-written tale.. Which I think could have been expanded to give more time to the Colonel and his romance.
Yet again another re-read.

Meanwhile they need to discover the motive for the attempt on their lives and deal with the blackmailer of Nicholas.
An entertaining and well-written mystery and romance. With its likebale and varied characters. A good start to this new series.

A very enjoyable tale, a good mix of mystery and romance.

In this Pride & Prejudive variation Jane is engaged to a wealthy Wickham. But Elizabeth is concerned and travels to Derbyshire to meet the Gardiners who are on holiday there and enlist their help. Near Lambton she is meet and helped by Darcy. But what plots are a foot.
A fun read with some new characters. Another re-read of this story with a mystery plot, which is so much more interesting than a straight romance story, and with pairings I like.
NB There is mature content.

But now winter has returned to Meryton and more gentlemen become stranded in Meryton starting with Bingley and Darcy, but they are soon joined by Colonel Fitzwilliam. Very soon they met the Bennet daughters of The Nunnery. The colonel decides to help them, but can they change and will there be a happy ending for any of them.
An entertaining variation with a lovable Colonel. Another re-read.
