The Perfect Bride for Mr. DarcyThe Perfect Bride for Mr. Darcy by Mary Lydon Simonsen
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

In this enjoyable variation of Pride and Prejudice plans are made by Anne de Bourgh and Georgiana Darcy to ensure that Darcy and Elizabeth become to an understanding. Of course nothing goes smoothly and not just with their romance. Does Jane Bennet really have another suitor. A more interesting Jane in this version. I also like the character of Lord Fitzwilliam which in contract does show how boring Darcy is. More of a 3.5 star rating for me

Then Bartó goes missing, with the concert's music. It is up to Hayden, with various helpers, to find him and the music and to determine why.
An enjoyable slowly unfolding mystery and I look forward to reading the next

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

After witnessing the retrieval of Georgian Darcy from Ramsgate by Darcy and the Colonel. Elizabeth Bennet meets Darcy again at the Meryton Assembly. And of course after witnessing the behaviour of her family decides without evidence that Elizabeth has spread gossip about the Darcys. Can Darcy persuade Bingley against Jane, can Darcy stop presuming. Who does Mr Bennet persuade Collins to marry. Although Collins and Mary are hardly mentioned in the book I did lose interest after that event.

But there are some who take advantage, and the situation just gets worse. Is there any hope for a HEA for anybody.

On Equal Ground: A Pride and Prejudice VagaryOn Equal Ground: A Pride and Prejudice Vagary by Elizabeth Adams
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A very well-written love story between Elizabeth Bennet and Robert Talbot, Earl of Asheland. My view at the approximately half way stage it that the author should have continued this story, and not what I presume will be a happy ending of Elizabeth with a lesser man, that is Darcy. I continue to read.
Having finished I admit to preferring the first half of the book and I expect I am the only person to be creeped out by Darcy telling the grave of Robert Talbot "That she is mine now."

Colonel Darcy: An Elizabeth and Darcy StoryColonel Darcy: An Elizabeth and Darcy Story by Timothy Underwood
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Mr bennet has taken a young Elizabeth on a tour of the continent where they meet and befriend Mr Darcy who is travelling with his second son Fitzwilliam and daughter Georgina. There friendship spans many years and distance as Fitzwilliam is sent to India and Elizabeth catches the unwelcome eye of a local gentleman.
It was an enjoyable non-canon story though I not sure I particularly liked any of the main characters. There is no Caroline Bingley, Hursts,Lady Catherine or Anne de Bourgh and very little of a character called Charles Bingley though there is a vicar called Wickham. And certainly nothing about accepting any faults, even if they had any, so the two main characters didn't change or grow.

The Companion's Secret: A Pride and Prejudice VariationThe Companion's Secret: A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Linda Thompson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After a carriage accident that kills her three younger sisters and parents, Elizabeth is left at Longbourn with the Collins - Harold Collins and his son Walter. Fearing for her life she decides not to burden the Gardiners (where Jane is staying) but make her way as a companion and governess. It is fortuitous that she meets the Darcys.
In this variation Elizabeth and Darcy seem to have no faults, and the villains no redeeming qualities. As much as I love the villains, to counteract the sweet, at least one of them should have had one spark of goodness.

Return to Rosings: A Pride and Prejudice Variation (Passage to Pemberley #4)Return to Rosings: A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Emma Osborne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The truth about Wickham is discovered but all is still not well with everyone. There were some unresolved issues in the story and the ending seem to come very quickly.
Darcy is only a very small part in this story, so there is very little interaction between him and Elizabeth which maybe a problem for some readers, though not me.
Although a decent story it still needs to be proofread, and the location of towns and estates needs to be sorted out.

The Rosings Bride: A Pride and Prejudice Variation (Passage to Pemberley Book 1)The Rosings Bride: A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Emma Osborne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

In this first novella of four Charlotte Lucas is to marry Mr. Collins and as the wedding is to be held in Kent, Elizabeth Bennet is persuaded to accompany Charlotte to Hunsford for the wedding. At this time who is it in Elizabeth's thoughts now that Bingley and Darcy have left Netherfield, is it really Wickham.
A short story, which I probably would have preferred to have been longer and detailed some of Charlotte's thoughts, so only just 3 stars.
(At one point I was confused concerning which town Elizabeth and Charlotte were leaving when walking back to Lucas Lodge and met Wickham, if they were not in Meryton.)
Coming next Part Two.

An interesting read though a couple of points - in England there are Ground Floors, then First etc, and paperbacks didn't come along until the 1930's and not during the Victorian period.

The Final Reason: A Tale of Pride and PrejudiceThe Final Reason: A Tale of Pride and Prejudice by Ola Wegner
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

In this variation the family dynamics have been changed - Bennet's first marriage resulted in a son, Thomas, his second to two daughters - Jane and Elizabeth. Thomas Bennet became great friends with Darcy and Bingley.
On meeting Elizabeth again when she is 20, Darcy falls in love but she is engaged to a sailor. How will they both react to the growing attraction. For me they both acted like spoilt children, always wanting their own way. My favourite part was when Jane tells Darcy exactly what she thinks of him - more of this Jane is needed to be shown and not the bland boring one.
