A delightful and entertaining well-written story with its interesting characters.
Which is thankfully not just a romance tale but would have loved to have the Colonel more in the story and so a lot more about my favourite couple. An enjoyable re-read. Again.

The Last Chance by Adele Clee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
1831 Aaron Chance is the owner of Fortune's Den and hated heir to the Earl of Berridge. Late one night, Miss Joanne Lovelace owner of the ladies' club The Burnished Jade, on discovering the body of Lord Howard in her club runs to Chance for help. Unfortunately both have a motive for his death, but can they find the culprit before they are arrested and quietly hanged.
An entertaining and well-written historical romance and mystery with its cast of likeable characters. Another good addition to this enjoyable series which does have mature content.
I received a free copy of this book from the author via BooksFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
