Act of Treason by Frank Dickens
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
George Bullen, living in London, is an amanuensis - a scribe for the illiterate - in the late Elizabethan era, of 1598, is employed to transcribe a tale by Gareth Simmons a foot soldier in the employ of the Duke of Norfolk. The story begins in 1592 - the telling of which is An Act of Treason.
An interesting enough story, there was enough intrigue during that era that suspending your disbelief is not impossible,
A NetGalley book
