March 1820. James Denis, criminal mastermind is arrest for murder, which Captain Lacey is convinced he is innocent of,and aims to prove it. Lacey is approached by a Lady from the past needing help in finding her daughter, adopted at birth.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery with its very likeable main characters supported by a cast of varied personalities. Another good addition to this enjoyable series.
