A house party is given by the Hillyards of Minton Deep. For their amusement they enact a murder unfortunately for them an actual murder takes place. Everyone assumes that Pinkerton is the guilty party, his actions are sometimes just too foolish, except his inviting Roger Sheringham for help in proving his innocence. With seven possible suspects, who is guilty.
