London, 1896, Sebastian Nightwine, nemesis of Cyrus Barker has returned, but why. Then his associates, friends, and partner Thomas Llewelwn become in danger. Meanwhile Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, trying to avoid the China's Secret Service disappears. They employed to find him. Added to these, parts of the British government are against them.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery with its cast of likeable and interesting characters. Another good addition to this enjoyable series.
