Aunt to Lionel (chronicler of Beef) and Vincent Townsend, Aurora Fielding, is found dead, poisoned in her home in Hastings. Are the three nephews, and main beneficiaries including Hilton Gupp, the prime suspects. Beef also has a second case in the Cotswolds, that of the murder of wealthy and unlike Edwin Ridley.
