The Beholder by David Bishop

Detective Maddie Richards is assigned as the lead on a serial killer case - the Beholder.
I liked that family and relationship issues did not intrude on the plot and also this is a character that doesn't do stupid actions.
I also liked that I didn't work out who it was until the story got there, a big plus for me.
