It is Detective Inspector Siv Drummond's first day back at work after the death of her husband, and in a new place, Berminster. The day does not start well with the discovery of two bodies in a woodland by the River Bere. On the female's body is a photograph of a child.
Siv and her team investigate but are hampered when it seems everybody has something to hide.
An enjoyable and well-written crime story, with its cast of varied characters. A good solid start to a new series.
