September 1863. While on an archaeological dig in Paris, Catherine Briggs informs Sir Edward Tyrington of the death of close friend Henri le Marchal, in Nancy. Henri's mother charges him to find the murderer.
Catherine and Edward start their investigation with so few clues, and who can they trust on their journey to the truth, and what will they discover.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery with its cast of likeable and varied characters. A good addition to this series.
