A - The man who vanished - Where has bank thief Lew Soames disappeared to.
B - The Grey Monk - Sir Isaac Lewin's butler has been shot dead by a ghost
C - The Clue - Travelling back to London a shot is heard and a body discovered
D -The Undoing of Mr Dawes -Can Budd catch fence Simon Dawes
E - The Clever Crook - a very clever crook Al Gaynor or so he believes, but can he be caught.
