DCI Jack Lambert is back working and his first case involves the discovery of two bodies in a open grave. Are these the first for the killer and will there be more. Meanwhile his team also have the case of the stalking of a minor local celebrity.
I found it to be an interesting mystery with a variety of different characters. A good solid start to a series which I look forward to reading more.

Unfortunately for a dog walker in Tintin she literally falls over and onto a body. But when later her dog finds an unrelated bone, is it just a concidence.
Slater and Norman with their team investiagate, but what else will be turn up.

1919 England and Verity is persuaded to attend a seance where she receives a message supposedly from a woman she once worked with in the Secret Service. Trying to solve the mystery leads Verity to Belgium.
An interesting historical fiction story/thriller with some danger and intrigue mixed in with secrets from the war.

This Pride and Prejudice variation I give 1 star but only because I managed to finish it. At least it wasn't the advertised 394 pages. Too many modern idioms and actions and it needs proofreading just for a start.

Bad to the Bone by Tony J. Forder

DI Jimmy Bliss and DC Penny Chandler are assigned to investigate the discover of bones found in a wood. The case sends their case back to the 1990s and turns up unwanted suspicions.
A well-written story with its well-drawn characters. A good crime mystery and a very solid start to the series. I look forward to reading more.

Buried Lies by Chris Collett

Detective Inspector Tom Mariner has arranged to go on holiday after the funeral of his ex-lover Anna Barham. On this walking holiday in Wales, visiting places from his past he becomes embroiled in a murder investigation. Does this have any connection to what is happening back on his patch.
The plot slowly builds up its momentum to a good mystery, and some well-drawn out characters. Though it can be read as a standalone I would recommend the whole series so far.

Mary Bennet of Meryton: Can Mrs Bennet finally marry off her last daughter? by Barbara Randell

In this Pride and Prejudice sequel Mary Bennet is last of the daughers living at home. This is her story as she attempts to survive the nerves of her mother, and the various young man who come into her life. Can there be a happy ending.
Firstly I did enjoy the story, I admit that Mary is my favourite female character, but the mistakes in the book. It really does need a good proofreading e.g. Bennett, de Burgh, Huntsford, Lady Anne plus all the spelling mistakes.
If anyone knows the author I would be pleased to pass on the list of errors I found.
