The first Sophia Mancini Mystery series is a lovely cozy mystery set in the post WW2 Little Italy. At the grand opening celebration of her and her brother's private detective agency the chef at the restaurant is killed. Though this is the era of 'a woman's place is in the home' it is Sophia who asks the questions and faces the dangers as the mysteries are solved.
