It's 1962 and newly married couple, Joshua and Trudy Garner, are hiking in Wales. Unfortunately they are about to cross paths with a gang of thieves hiding in an isolated farmhouse.
In Sheffield DCI Hawthorne is investigating the theft of money at Grainger Forges. An investigation which leads him into conflict, not just with his superiors at work, but also the local crimes bosses.
