When an acquaintance of Freddie Lark disappears from Vancouver, she reports him missing to her policeman friend, James 'Mack' McCormack. But knowing that it will be a low priority she decides to look for him herself. The only clue is a pamplet for the Sacred Sobriety she finds in his room.
