The Light in Mr. Darcy's Eyes: A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Georgina Young-Ellis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
In this Pride and Prejudice variation, does Darcy have a rival for the hand of Elizabeth Bennet in Wickham. How can he afford to marry. Soon after Charlotte's marriage to Mr. Collins, Elizabeth and Mary venture to Hunsford to find their futures.
An enjoyable re-read, but it was a pity that the opportuniy was dismissed to portray, in detail, the second romance in this story. That I would have loved to read about. Which is the only reason I re-read the story. Another re-read.

Unexpectedly she is bequeathed an inheritance by a distant cousin named Margaret Ashburn. An inheritance of Ashburn Keep. Follow Mary's trials and tribulations. Can she also have a happy ending.
Really enjoyed this story, especially as it is all about Mary, and I liked the new characters.

Heritage House: A Cape Breton Mystery by Renny deGroot
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Cape Breton. Newly arrived resident German Gretha Braun is renovating her house - Heritage House on the Isle Madame. But it would seem that she has upset someone enough that she is found murdered. But why and by whom.
Detective Roxanne Albright is put in charge, her first time as lead, instead of Cordie MacLean. Will this lead to conflict between them or can they solve the mystery together.
An entertaining modern mystery with its likeable and interesting main chapters. A good addition to this series which can easily be read as a standalone story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
A Pride and Prejudice variation where various characters have magical powers and in the Bennet family it is Elizabeth. But these powers must be kept secret. When Darcy discovers this what will he do.
An enjoyable re-read though not enough about the Colonel and the other Bennets.
