1940 Aberdeen. It would seem Inspector Alec Cattanach is very busy dealing with several cases. That of the death of a history professor, the disappearance of the Gowden Wifie, the attacks on Italian residents and a ARP warden, a missing man and the possible sabotage of a paper lworks. And how much help with the newly arrived constable Dunning be.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery wth its likeable main character. A good second book in this series.
