Spider Silk by Annelie Wendeberg
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Coroner Sévère livilhood is threathened when a friend dies and he is accused of his murder. Can his wife, Olivia, an ex-prostitute and initially his assistant, then working as a private detective help.
Wonderfully written, not just the mystery but the relationship between the Sévères and her portrayal of Victorian England in the 1880's.
