It's 1887 London and Mrs Charlotte Pennyworth has just come out of a years mourning for her husband when she starts to rceive unwelcome 'presents'. She employs ex-police inspector Elliott Baker to investigate who now works as a private investigator and solicitor. The case becomes complicated by their growing attachment to each other.
The mystery in this story was quite good though I did have my suspicions. I enjoyed the story and found the characters likeable and wait to see if there will be more written about Elliott Baker's investigations.
