Death of a Prosecutor by Wendy Soliman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
In 1870 when his friend and prosecutor Sir Robert Glover is found murdered Inspector Rochester is called on to investigate with the help of his sergeant, Jack Salter. Because of Glover's work it seems that there are too many suspects to deal with. Rochester is also occupied in wanting to know the response of Amelia Cosgrove to his marrigae proposal, and concern over the state of his nephew's health.
A very enjoyable and well-written mystery with lots of interesting characters.
