A Pretty Folly: A traditional British murder mystery by Charlie Garratt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
6th March 1939. The rumours of the threat of war across Europe has reached England, and has resulted in an increase in violence against the Jewish community in Coventy. Inspector James Given, a Jew by birth, is seconded to the investigation, for one day a week.
Meanwhile, in Kenilworth, at the Hannah Robinson's Charity School a body is discovered. A mummified body in the Chapel's vaults. Inspector Given investigates the case and suspects with the help of Constable Sawyer.
An enjoyable and well-written historical mystery, with a likeale style of writing and good plotting.
