Lydia Wickham's Journal by Wendy Soliman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
In this P&P sequel, and last in series, Wickham has been dead for a year now. But Lydia remains at Pemberley. Caroline Bingley has really not recovered from her episode in a previous book. But Mr Patrick Shannon has reurned home after being away for ten years. Ten yars since his father died and his inheritance was lost. Here there is a mystery to be solved,
I enjoyed the mystery and the romance of this well-written story and the rest of the series.
BUT why was it necessary to add a couple of sentences concerning Mary Bennet and her attachment with a curate in Meryton who is 'a younger version of Mr Collins'? The author has been kind to the other Bennet daughters and Georgiana Darcy, even though they may not have deserved it. It is a shame that those few sentences did actual ruin the whole series for me.
