1360 John the carpenter arrived in Chesterfield looking for work. He is employed in building the St. Mary's spire. But he becomes first finder when he discovers the body of the master carpenter. To move suspicion away from himself he is determined to find the guilty party. But this leads to more trouble than he could imagine, danger to him, and more deaths.
An enjoyable mystery, a well-written story with its very likeable characters. A very good solid start to the series.
