Protecting Lady Esther by Lucy Adams
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
1815 Lady Esthers' father has disappeared, finding a mention in his correspondence of the gambling den The Shrew she foolishly decides to visit. Her stupid action gets her mistaken for a whore, but is rescued by Lord Westbrook, a member of the King's League. He and his fellow members are looking for a cipher to decode a book belonging to French spies.
Unfortunately for the reader, the cipher is in an obvious place.
Enjoyable enough romance with some mystery
