The Case at Barton Manor by Emily Queen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
1920s Widow Rosemary Lillywhite has no intentions in carrying on her late husband business as a private investigator until the arrival of an old acquaintance. Grace Barton fears for the life of her father and needs help. Consequently Rosemary is off to spend the weekend at her family home, neighbours to the Bartons who are holding a party, but during the Barton's party a body is discovered. Old friend to Rosemary's husband, CID Detective Max Whittingdon is called in to investigate. But Rosemary is determined to help.
An entertaining well-written historical cozy mystery with its likeable characters.
