1814/1815 Police man Duval has decided to resign his position and return to his family home in Grenoble. His plans for a quiet life are overturned when Napoleon escapes Elba and he discovers a plot to assassinate him. His orders are to find the guilty parties.
This was my first Duval story and for me it read as more of an adventure story than a murder mystery which I was hoping for, but it was still an enjoyable story
