Masking The Truth by Max Parker
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
East India Company man Andrew Green is seconded to the Metropolitan Police to uncover the opium trade. Meanwhile female Bow Street Runner, Scarlett Pembridge, who I found to be an annoying character is searching for the Matchstick Mangler, a murderer. Soon their paths will cross.
Enjoyable enough thriller but without any character depth.
With the story spposedly set in 1840s London I did have a problem with a female Bow Street Runner especially when the force was disbanded by 1840, and electric lights?
An ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
