1873 An amateur archaeologist, Andrew North, has gone missing near Salisbury. Meanwhile lawyer Tom Ansell, is on his way to the city on business with Canon Felix Slater. Soon Tom discovers a body. Initially he is thought to be a suspect by Inspector Foster. Then Tom and friend Helen Scott investigate to clear his name.
An enjoyable and well-written historical mystery with its likeable characters.
