1894 Braxton. Very wealthy businessman Earnest Dowland is found dead in Monarch Park. Also missing, presumed abducted, is his deaf and mute adopted daughter, 17 year old Abigail. Detective Percy Watts and Officer Milo Moffat investigate. In another case five prostitutes have disappeared.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery with its interesting main characters. A good start to this new series
