1275 Gilbert Wistwood co-owner of the Broken Shield inn on losing a wager has to provide every year a meal of quail for Abbott Gerald Fulker. But this year he dies, and is it food poisoning and therefore murder. Stephen Attebrook investigates.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery with its likeable characters. Another good addition to this enjoyable series.
