'Jane and the Vanishing Valet' - The Armitage family is invited for the holidays to the home of Major George Coates, who is the uncle of their ward Araminta. They investigate the reasons why her uncle was attacked, and what did happen to the valet of the son, Captain Vernon Coate.
'Jane and the Unladylike Wife' wherein they and the Coates family are invited to a a dinner party given by neighbour, Mrs Steggall, when the next morning she is discovered dead. The Armitages are asked to investigate.
