Summer in Ballater and the town has many visitors. Mrs Kynoch’s school for young ladies is doing well but while at a picnic one of the ladies disappears. Has she eloped, or is the cause more deadly.
Sheriff's man Dod Durris investigates with the help of Hippolyta.
Another enjoyable and well-written historical mystery, full of likeable characters.
