Murder at the Abbey by Irina Shapiro
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
1866 Birch Hill. The body of Mrs Elizabeth Barrett is found near the ruins of an abbey, an abbey she was painting. Captain Redwood declares that she has been poisoned, and he and Constable Haze investigate. But who could want to kill such a lovely young lady.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery, with its very likeable main characters. A very good addition to the series.
