March 1264 Stephen Attebrook and Gilbert Wistwode are at the muster at Oxford. On the death of his nephew, Miles, Percival FitzAllan, Earl of Arundel, asks his old enemy Attebrook to investigate. But Prince Edward wants him to travel to Northampton to investigate if there is a breech in the defenses.
An entertining historical mystery with its likeable characters. Another good addition to this enjoyble and well-written series.
