The Monks Hood Murders by Karen Baugh Menuhin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
1922 April - Major Lennox and ex-detective Swift are both approached to help the monks at Monks Hood Abbey. Their benefactor, Sir Clarence Calderstone, died passing on, in confession, an awful secret, the answer may be in the Codex of Medical Medicinal Herbs. But where is this ancient book and who is the heir to the Calderstone estate which includes the Abbey and the whole village. Then they discover a body.
An entertaining and well-written historical mystery with its very likeable main characters. Another good addition to the series
