The Curse of Morton AbbeyThe Curse of Morton Abbey by Clarissa Harwood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

1897 Vaughan Springthorpe has sent most of her life helping her solicitor father in his work as his assistant. On his death she has applied for and been accepted to work as a legal assistant by Sir Peter Spencer owner of Morton Abbey. But strange things are happening, noisies, and crying from a long dead child. Is someone trying to frighten her away. She even becomes suspicious of the nearest ‘perfect’ village .
An entertaining and well-written Victorian Gothic mystery with its interesting and varied characters
