1890 Edward Carstairs, fine art dealer approaches Holmes and tells him his story. Of selling paintings to an American but before they arrived they were destroyed by an explosion. Caused by the Flat Cap Gang. One member of which now seems to be London and following him. A male body is discovered but who is he. Why has one of Holmes’s irregulars gone missing.
An interesting and well-written Holmes mystery
